Welcome to the

Purton Stoke Fund Committee

This was set up in 1979 after the successful Queen's 1977 25th Jubilee celebrations in the Village. We wanted to build on the community spirit which was so evident during that year. Every year since we have organised an event which hopefully would bring people together as members of the Village community. The focus was to provide a free Christmas Dinner for everyone over 60 who lived in the Village, have a party for the under 7s, and organise a theatre or pantomime trip for those between 7 and 16. To fund those ambitions we raise money from coffee mornings, quiz evenings, dances, safari suppers, Bonfire celebrations, Christmas bazaars, harvest suppers, treasure hunts, duck races, garden parties and of course the Village Fete. We even had an evening of Morris Dancing at the Bell Inn. The Scarecrow and Open Gardens event last year was the most successful ever in terms of raising money and making everyone proud to be part of such a living community.

Village life is alive and well in Purton Stoke.
